Chinese company TESO has an unrequited love for all things Apple. Not that it cares, we’re sure it’s doing just fine on the grey market with its KIRFy Cupertino crafts. But maybe it’s time for this Shenzhen cloner to go mainstream with what’s purported to be a 9.7-inch tablet running “MeGoo” (a MeeGo typo, certainly) or “Andriod2.2″ (that’d be Froyo) OSes on a 14-mm thick LPAD powered by Intel’s newest 1.9GHz Z600-series Moorestown processor. Of course, it’s a hell of a lot easier to list specs on paper than it is to ship [...]

Nokia’s Symbian^3 flagship — the 3.5-inch N8 with 12 megapixel camera — just went up for pre-order on Espoo’s Italian storefront showing an end of September availabilty. Now before you get up in arms about the €469 price tag (about $610), remember, the €370 estimated retail price announced was pre tax and pre carrier subsidy. That’s just how Europe does things, deal with it. We’re not seeing the preorder available elsewhere but we’ll update you if that situation changes.

If you’ve got a hankering for some battery-sipping Core i3 ULV processors and live south of a certain 38th parallel line, you’ll probably want to take a close look at one of Samsung’s new designs. We hear on good authority that Sammy’s refreshed its X Series laptops with the 1.2GHz Core i3-330M processor, including the 11.6-inch X180 (with the same 3GB of DDR3 memory, 320GB hard drive and most everything else included in the X170 that came before) and the 14-inch X430, which leapfrogs its predecessor the X420 with dedicated GeForce 310M graphics. Both actually report [...]

Samsung’s outing two new affordable cameras: the HMX-E10, a 1080p pocket cam with a handy 270-degree swiveling lens and the 14.2MP ST80 point-and-shoot, which packs Wi-Fi for beaming photos and 720p video directly to YouTube, Facebook and the rest.
The HMX-E10′s swiveling lens isn’t the first we’ve seen, but it’s a welcome addition in the vanilla world of pocket cams. This one has a 1/3.2 inch CMOS sensor and shoots 1080p, 30fps HD video, and it has some built-in effects like pencil-sketch, tilt-shift, and vignetting for when you’re feeling a little creative. [...]

Ready to climb Mount Fuji and see what the next top Japanese TV will look like? Toshiba has just outed its trio of flag-bearing displays for this fall: the Cell Regza Slim 55XE2 and 46XE2, and the full-bloodied 55X2. Inch-based dimensions are already given in their model names, but you’ll also want to know they offer 240Hz refresh rates, 1,000 nits of brightness and 9,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratios on the chunkier X2 (augmented with local backlight dimming), and a 2D-to-3D conversion technology that’ll translate your stale old 2D imagery into bodacious triple dimensionality. Two sizes of iMac (21.5″ and 27″), both available in different processor configurations, landed today. With the base price being $1,199 for the 21.5″ 3.06GHz Core i3 model, all of the models are faster and more fine-tuned than before.
Updated less than a year ago, last October, the newest iMacs haven’t changed in price, but just a couple of tweaks below the aluminum chassis seem to be all that’s changed. Let’s hope the 27″ model isn’t plagued with issues like last year’s model.

Up until now, 24″ was all the LED Cinema Display you were allowed. Apple’s newer 27″-sized monitor has a resolution of 2560 x 1440, and now costs $999—which is 100 bucks more than the 24″ model.
The other 27″-sized beauty in Apple’s pack is of course the iMac, which many of our readers had (much-documented) troubles with, and led to Apple acknowledging the issues and offering extended support on it. Let’s hope this similarly-sized brother will fare better.
Ports and connectors remain the same as the 24″ model. The brightness has been turned [...]

Acer feels your pain, and it’s offering up a new trio of monitors here in the US for those suffering the ancient panel blues. We can’t say we’ve heard of Augen before, but the company certainly sparked our interest (and that of Kmart circular readers) this weekend with its $149.99 7-inch Android tablet. Oh yes, you heard right shoppers — the small Florida-based shop is bringing an Android 2.1 tablet with WiFi, 2GB of storage and 256MB of RAM to a store near you for just 150 buckaroos. And according to an Augen spokesperson, it will have access to the Android “Market App Store.” That sounds pretty awesome for the pricetag, but we — along with a number of readers we’ve [...]
