Hydrogen-powered airliner of 2050 takes off vertically

Hydrogen-powered airliner of 2050 takes off vertically

Let’s jump 40 years into the future with designer Victor Uribe, and look at that, it’s just about time for his Airbus A350H airliner to lift off from the center of Frankfurt. In the crowded world of 2050, Uribe says there won’t be room for conventional airports any more, so that’s why he’s designed his hydrogen-powered aircraft to take off vertically. In this design concept, the aircraft’s hydrogen fuel is synthesized from water drawn from a nearby river. Cold snap kills 40 in eastern Europe

BUCHAREST: More than 40 people have died this week as eastern and central Europe battles a Siberian cold snap that has cut power and roads, disrupted air travel and stranded whole villages, officials said Monday. An ice and snow front moved Monday into Germany causing the cancellation of more than 200 flights out of Frankfurt airport — Europe”s [...]

It will be shown at Berlin”s Brandenburg Gate on February 12 as part of the 60th Berlin Film Festival, with simultaneous gala screenings [...]

Toyota plans to have more than 100 hydrogen fuel-cell cars on the road by 2013, the company has announced. While most of them will be given to government agencies and universities for testing in California and New York, expanding this pilot program is designed to attract consumers to the idea of hydrogen-powered cars before automakers introduce them to the market in 2015. This is the third pillar in Toyota’s robust green technology strategy. Already, Toyota’s Prius is the dominant brand in low-emissions vehicles, giving Toyota  the crediblity it will need to successfully launch the [...]
