World’s first 3D HDTV cameras for portable devices coming soon

First Sharp brings 3D touchscreens to cellphones, and now the company is going to make it so they can shoot HD in 3D, too. That tiny module will soon find itself inside a variety of cellphones, portable gaming systems and digital cameras. This twin-lensed 3D capture device will shoot both photos and 720p video in 3D. It’s on its way to hardware manufacturers in July, followed by mass production sometime this year. Great. Once those portable devices have 3D HD video cameras on board, it’ll probably be a great excuse for manufacturers to jack up prices by considerable percentages.
