Yes, the Droid X has joined the Kin… in being available to buy on Verizon’s online Wireless store. No shock or awe here, it’s a cent under two Benjamins with a two-year deal and you can give it the shopping basket treatment right now. Either that or wait in line overnight like a lovesick puppy, it’s up to you.

The iPad is just too damn heavy. If you’ve already spent at least $500 on one, you might be reluctant to spend another cent on a stand that will relieve you of its 1.5-pound heft. With a nearly free coat hanger and some smart bending, you get a sturdy way to solve that problem.
Hey, this is not limited to iPads, either. Any tablet, picture frame or e-reader could be supported by this cheap easel. That is, if you don’t mind looking like a cheapskate. But it hardly shows when your gadget of choice sits on it, so maybe no one will be the wiser.

The KESC will continue to observe three-hour load shedding on 50 per cent of electricity feeders in the city; four-and-a-half hours of load-shedding on 26 per cent of feeders (those with increased instances of power theft); and no load-shedding at 24 per [...]

We’ve all experienced it. One minute you’re surfing along quite happily, an MP3 playing in the background, and then suddenly – bang! Disaster strikes.
Maybe your hard disk has failed; perhaps a virus has found its way round your defences and brought Windows to its knees; or it could be that your PSU has given up the ghost.
Whatever the reason, the net result is the same – suddenly you’re staring straight at the long and painful process of reinstalling Windows and attempting to rescue some of your precious data.
But there’s no need to live in fear any longer. As we [...]

Twitter has radically reduced the amount of spam on the site, announcing that just over one per cent of all tweets are now spam-related.
This is a significant change from August 2009 when spam was at its highest on the site accounting for a massive 11 per cent of tweets sent.
The micro-blogging site has put in measures to cut down spam on the site even further, but it does admit that “while the battle will never be over, we’re doing well on the front lines.”
“Posting harmful links to phishing or malware sites, repeatedly posting duplicate tweets, and aggressively following [...]

Do you reach for your iPhone first thing before giving your wife a good morning kiss? Do you spend more time looking at your shiny new 3GS in bed than reading one of the growing pile of great books next to you? Do you get more excited about new apps than you do about new albums?
I do. To my shame. My name is Adam. And I am an App-oholic.
I first developed signs of this impending addiction early last year, when I finally kowtowed and bought myself an iPhone 3G. At the time I wasn’t entirely sure why I wanted one, other than thinking it would be useful to be able to get online now and then [...]

The latest figures from the BBC show that Nintendo’s Wii is accounting for an increasing number of iPlayer views, moving from 2.8 million to 3.2 million views.
With the PlayStation holding steady at 6 per cent of total views, Nintendo’s console could feasibly overtake its rival if the growth continues.
The Nintendo Wii player was relaunched in November, after user complaints, and [...]

Google has expanded its Street View universe in the UK, photographing around 90 per cent of the country.
You can now virtually go and take a gander at deepest, darkest Somerset, the sunny docks of Arbroath, Scotland and even the lovely seaside village of Exmouth, Devon if you so wish.
Google Street View originally started off in the UK last March and was available to just 25 main cities.
But it seems that Google and its infamous streetcar have been busy of late, photographing towns and counties like it was going out of fashion.
And it takes note of how nice the streets are too – with The Shambles [...]
