As expected, Facebook App for iPhone has been updated to version 3.2 with Places support which was announced earlier today. Another welcome change is the addition of an option to set the privacy of status updates. Also, bringing it in tune with iOS4, you can now upload photos and videos in the background to Facebook.

Today at Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, the company held an event to show off their new Places product — essentially their check-in service. We spotted in the wild a bit early, but that was only on the touch.facebook.com site (the site built specifically for touchscreen devices). Net Applications, Top Browser Share Trend report revealed that Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser usage share gains by another 0.42% in July 2010.
