Opera Mini App Approved for the iPhone App Store

Opera Mini, the world’s favorite mobile web-browser, which was submitted to the App Store for review in March has finally been approved and will be available for download in the next 24 hours.

This comes as a shocker for all as it was expected of Apple to reject the Opera Mini app as it competes with MobileSafari in terms of the feature and service that it offers. Here is what the CEO of Opera Software, Lars Boilesen, has to say about it in a press-release:

We are delighted to offer iPhone and iPod touch users a great browsing experience with the Opera Mini App. This app is another step toward Opera’s goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places.

The Opera Mini App makes use of the proprietary page compression and rendering technology by Opera which boosts up the loading of web pages on slow connections such as EDGE. It is arguably the fastest mobile web browser on the planet.

The Opera Mini App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.
