Microsoft Extends Windows XP Downgrade Rights until 2020

Microsoft extended Windows XP downgrade until 2020 which means until the end of Windows 7 lifecycle. Previously company said that users will be eligible for Windows XP downgrade 18 months after the debut of Windows 7, or until Windows 7 SP1 become available.

Now according to Microsoft’s new plan users who buy Windows 7 or have any system pre-installed with Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate edition could get downgrade to similar versions of Windows XP or Vista until 2020.

Microsoft also said that retailers can sell Windows Vista boxed version until October 22, 2010, and OEMs will be able to sell PCs with pre-installed Windows Vista until October 22, 2011.
