If you like an app on your iOS device but do not like its icon then this is not a big deal to replace that icon with any other of your choice.
To change app icon on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad is possible through a freeware iPhone Explorer and especially you do not need to jailbreak your device to get it to work.

Guide to Change App Icon on iPhone 4 without Jailbreak:

Step 1

Download and install iPhone Explorer on Mac or PC

Step 2

Attach your iPhone to your system and launch iPhone Explorer

Step 3

Navigate to this path iPhone name/Apps/appname/appname.app where you have to replace iPhone name and appname with your own specific values

StepĀ 4

There you will find a file with name icon@2x.png, so backup it to any other location

Step 5

Rename your replacement icon with the same name as icon@2x.png (its case-sensitive) and drag it to the above specified path of step 3

Keep it in mind that your replacement icon must be a .PNG file, 114 x 114 size, 72 PPI with no transparency and no layers

Step 6

Delete the original icon@2x.png which is saved on other location
