About three years ago Ars Technica has pointed out the Facebook flaw where the photos deleted by its users still exist in the cloud, and accessible via direct links after months or even years. And still there are no improvements done by Facebook to resolve the issue. According to Facebook’s spokesman: “Facebooks’s older systems for storing uploaded content did not always delete images from content delivery networks in a reasonable period of time even though they were immediately removed from the site, whereas company is working for new systems which will make the deletion process quicker.” To [...]

TechRadar has teamed up with HTC to offer one of the smartest and fastest Windows Phone handsets on the market to a lucky winner: the HTC Titan. This Titanic phone (sorry) is one of the stand out performers in the market, thanks to the whopping 4.7-inch screen boosted by Super-LCD technology. Not only is it running the latest version of Windows Phone (7.5 or Mango to its friends) but it also comes with a whole host of features not seen on other Microsoft-powered handsets. You can download movies through the HTC Watch service, or use the virtual surround sound effects to supercharge your music [...]

Overview Sony’s latest attempt to lift a slice of the handheld pie so ably scoffed by Nintendo is the PS Vita: a chunky black slab of portable PlayStation. It’s a substantial revamp of the company’s handheld legacy that started with the PSP and has evolved, until now, through five largely identical models since its 2004 debut. Each step saw minor revisions – three of which, the PSP-1000, 2000 and 3000, were basically size revising updates – and attempts to chase a rapidly changing market. The PSP Go added a sliding-case design further shrinking the device, and ditched [...]

While Toshiba’s stateside reps had us convinced its 14-inch Ultrabook wouldn’t see the light of day until sometime in June, that message of withholding apparently didn’t make it Down Under. Outed by its Australian arm today, that would-be Portege is actually the company’s Satellite U840. We already knew the electronics giant had intended on shuffling this Windows 7 machine out under that brand umbrella back at CES, but now we have a $1,500 AUD (about $1,608 USD) price tag to go with a list of confirmed specs. Officially on deck for this aluminum-bodied laptop are an Intel [...]

Hold on to your campaign hats people, Rogers has some blazingly fast new LTE devices for your consideration: the AirCard 330U LTE Rocket and AirCard 763S LTE mobile hotspot. Both Sierra Wireless 4G cards support the 1700MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz bands for theoretical peak downloads of 100Mbps, while real-world speeds will hover closer to 40Mbps. The latest dongle and hotspot for Rogers are the first to work on all three of its bands, and claim to be the fastest such devices in the land. The carrier is also extending its HSPA+ pricing scheme to its LTE network, meaning Flex Rate plans for the LTE [...]

Thought Canon was done with the point-and-shoot updates after refreshing its ELPH lineup last month? Think again, as the company is updating its PowerShot A-Series shooters with six new models in a variety of colors. All the cameras pack a 16-megapixel sensor, 28mm wide angle lens and can take 720p video. First up is the A4000 IS, which brings image stabilization, 8X optical zoom and a 3-inch LCD for $200 later this month. The A3400 IS and A2400 IS make their debuts in March, and bring the same image stabilization as the 4000, but have a lesser 5X optical zoom. Additionally, the 3400 packs a 3-inch [...]

Korea’s ETNews is betting its reputation upon this raft of rumored details concerning Samsung’s Galaxy SIII. Since the only thing we know for certain is that it’ll be announced “After MWC,” lets take all of these tidbits with a strong pot of “We’ll believe it when we see it,” okay? According to the report, the handset’s going to be 7mm thick, helped by the company shrinking down its PCB, connector and chip sizes by between 10 and 20 percent. The only thing that hasn’t lost any weight is the camera, which may sit on a “protrusion” [...]

Would you look at that? According to PhotoRumors, that chunk of retro beauty is purportedly a full-on snap of Olympus’ new OM-D Micro Four Thirds shooter (from an Amazon Japan listing that’s since been pulled) affixed with its optional battery grip (adding what appears to be a secondary shutter button). That, or someone knows exactly what makes us go “Oooh.” The chunky ’70s stylings make us fear we’d abandon our career to go become a war photographer if one of those was placed in our hands. 43Rumors believes the unit will hold a 16.1 megapixel EDR CMOS, beefier [...]
