About three years ago Ars Technica has pointed out the Facebook flaw where the photos deleted by its users still exist in the cloud, and accessible via direct links after months or even years. And still there are no improvements done by Facebook to resolve the issue. According to Facebook’s spokesman: “Facebooks’s older systems for storing uploaded content did not always delete images from content delivery networks in a reasonable period of time even though they were immediately removed from the site, whereas company is working for new systems which will make the deletion process quicker.” To [...]

TechRadar has teamed up with HTC to offer one of the smartest and fastest Windows Phone handsets on the market to a lucky winner: the HTC Titan. This Titanic phone (sorry) is one of the stand out performers in the market, thanks to the whopping 4.7-inch screen boosted by Super-LCD technology. Not only is it running the latest version of Windows Phone (7.5 or Mango to its friends) but it also comes with a whole host of features not seen on other Microsoft-powered handsets. You can download movies through the HTC Watch service, or use the virtual surround sound effects to supercharge your music [...]

Overview Sony’s latest attempt to lift a slice of the handheld pie so ably scoffed by Nintendo is the PS Vita: a chunky black slab of portable PlayStation. It’s a substantial revamp of the company’s handheld legacy that started with the PSP and has evolved, until now, through five largely identical models since its 2004 debut. Each step saw minor revisions – three of which, the PSP-1000, 2000 and 3000, were basically size revising updates – and attempts to chase a rapidly changing market. The PSP Go added a sliding-case design further shrinking the device, and ditched [...]

The latest step in bringing Google-based unification has arrived. The Chrome browser is here on Android. This beta version is currently only available for that elite crowd of ICS phones and tablets and like its desktop progenitor, the synced settings and bookmarks are all in tow. Expect to see a new, more natural mobile view of the tab system. It’ll also remember what you were last looking at on your desktop Chrome browser, and sync it across to your mobile device — it’s like Kindle or iBook’s bookmarking system, but for the web. Your autocorrect content from the desktop [...]

While Toshiba’s stateside reps had us convinced its 14-inch Ultrabook wouldn’t see the light of day until sometime in June, that message of withholding apparently didn’t make it Down Under. Outed by its Australian arm today, that would-be Portege is actually the company’s Satellite U840. We already knew the electronics giant had intended on shuffling this Windows 7 machine out under that brand umbrella back at CES, but now we have a $1,500 AUD (about $1,608 USD) price tag to go with a list of confirmed specs. Officially on deck for this aluminum-bodied laptop are an Intel [...]

The latest dongle and hotspot for Rogers are the first to work on all three of its bands, and claim to be the fastest such devices in the land.
